Arthur Harari

Arthur Harari, one of the remarkable writers of the French cinema world, was born in Paris in 1981. Working as both a director and a screenwriter, Harari managed to make a name for himself in the international arena in a short time with his unique voice and extraordinary story approach. Harari, who took the first steps in his career with the 2005 film Des jours dans la rue, first revealed his identity as a filmmaker in 2016 with Diamant noir, which he directed and wrote the script for. This thriller, which focuses on the world of diamond smuggling, revealed what a unique perspective he has as a narrator. One of the most important turning points in Harari's rise to international fame was the 2021 film Onoda: 10,000 Nights in the Jungle. This epic production, which tells the true story of Japanese soldier Hiroo Onoda, who continued his struggle in the Philippines for decades without being aware that the war was over, unquestionably proved Harari's scriptwriting and directing capacity. Despite its long-running structure, the film received high praise from critics for its strong narrative that draws the audience from beginning to end. However, the production that took Harari's career to its peak was Anatomy of a Fall, directed by Justine Triet and for which they wrote the script together. This 2023 legal thriller made a big splash around the world by winning the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. With this film, Harari not only had the opportunity to be recognized at the highest level on international platforms as a screenwriter, but also became one of the prominent names of modern French cinema. Harari, who also contributed to projects such as Sibyl in the same period, continues to tell stories that push the boundaries of cinema and deeply examine human psychology and moral dilemmas.
