Myers, who died in 1995 at the age of 56, left behind a filmography focused on his own inner world, far from commercial concerns. Myers positioned his directorial career in a place different from mainstream studio understanding. He adopted an approach that prioritized storytelling over big budgets and box office calculations. He managed to attract the attention of a certain audience with the films he shot in the 1970s, when the independent production environment was relatively lively.
