Jeff Nathanson

Los Angeles-born screenwriter Jeff Nathanson is one of Hollywood's most prolific and versatile writers, leaving a strong mark in both the action-comedy and adventure genres in his decades-long career. Born in 1965, Nathanson discovered his passion for cinema at an early age and progressed in the industry, becoming a name preferred by major studios. One of the most remarkable works of his career is his contribution with his scripts to productions signed by giants such as Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg. However, the production that made it reach large audiences was the Rush Hour series starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. Rush Hour 2, released in 2001, and Rush Hour 3, released in 2007, clearly demonstrated Nathanson's mastery of blending action with humor. His fruitful collaboration with Steven Spielberg is also a defining part of his career. Catch Me If You Can, produced in 2002, is considered one of the brightest fruits of this partnership. Nathanson also teamed up with the same director on Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. The screenwriter, who turned his way to Disney's major productions in the following years, wrote scripts for Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge, followed by 2019's The Lion King and its sequel Mufasa: The Lion King. With this broad genre range, Nathanson has carved out a permanent place in Hollywood.
