The question of where the wind carries people carries a different weight in each culture. In this original production, which Tunisian cinema has recently won, Amel Guellaty brings this very question to life on the screen by blending it with a family portrait. The young woman, played by Eya Bellagha, finds herself in the gravitational field of family dynamics in an unexpected situation, and in this process, she is forced to confront both her own identity and the weight of her roots. The film mixes drama and comedy, deliberately blurring the lines between these two genres. While it makes you laugh, it makes you think, while it gets lighter, it suddenly becomes heavy. Family relationships, shaped by the strong performances of Slim Baccar and Sondos Belhassen, simultaneously carry the familiar tension and warmth specific to the Mediterranean geography. The viewer shares both the pain and the ridiculousness of those on the screen; This partnership is one of the most valuable aspects of the film. Guellaty builds his narrative not with grand gestures, but with the accumulation of small moments. A look, a silence, an unspoken sentence sometimes goes far beyond dialogue. In this period when Tunisian cinema is increasingly appearing on international platforms, this production, which draws attention with its TMDB score of over eighty points, once again reveals the narrative maturity of the regional cinema. This journey, undertaken without knowing where the wind will take it, leaves a mark on the audience that cannot be shaken for a long time.

While I may be from Germany and don't have their same family situations, I could relate to Alyssa a lot. Dreaming of a better world, using imagination to get through reality, being spontanous, and trying to do the best in life, which however needs to also be lots of fun. She probably impersonated Gen Z quite well. The ending surprised me, as it is not the typical comedy roadtrip movie ending, reminding that one of the genres is also drama. It's not bad. Just … very realistic and bittersweet. ...

Although hopeful, too. I wouldn't mind a sequel. Watched the original version with german subtitles in the theatre. Really loved the soundtrack too, introduced me to some dope arabian songs! -30.04.26
