This Spanish-made young adult adaptation goes far beyond the appearance of an ordinary romantic thriller; it stands out as a film that skillfully handles the search for identity, the problem of belonging and the explosion of repressed emotions. At the center of the story is a young woman named Noah. Forced to leave behind everything familiar, the order he has established and the life he considers his own, Noah steps through the door of a completely different world with his mother's marriage. This new home, with its opulence, order, and ostentation, feels like a place that could never truly make him feel at home. Moreover, in this place, there is a person with whom he has to share the same roof and whose character clashes with his own on almost every issue: Nick. The tension between the two young people forms the backbone of the film. Nicole Wallace and Gabriel Guevara convey this tension with an incredibly believable energy as they portray two characters who both approach and run away from each other on screen. The film is also quite successful in creating atmosphere. The cold grandeur of the mansion becomes a visual reflection of the emotional entrapment in which the characters find themselves. Reminding of the pain of self-recognition, the loneliness of not being able to belong and how complex and unpredictable emotions can be, this film, memory knows how to surrender easily.
