The short films that remain in the shadow of the main films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe but serve as a hidden treasure for curious eyes are called "One-Shot" films. Item 47 is perhaps the most enjoyable example of this series; it both questions what ordinary people can do in a world without superheroes and features S.H.I .E.L.D.An eleven-minute story that contains a subtle joke about the bureaucratic machine of . Considering the debris, weapons and pieces of alien technology left on the streets of New York after the great battle of the Avengers, the first question that comes to mind may be: Where did all these leftovers go? Item 47 addresses exactly this gap. This little adventure, which begins with two ordinary people trying to repair a broken relationship and an even more broken bank account, confiscating a very unusual object, takes place almost in the slums of the MCU. Lizzy Caplan and Jesse Bradford portray this couple with both endearing and slightly desperate energy; They skillfully walk the fine line between evoking sympathy in the audience and eliciting a smile. On the other hand, Maximiliano Hernández's character Agent Sitwell becomes one of the film's unexpected surprises. This bureaucrat figure, who is trying to fulfill his official duty, also undergoes a transformation himself in the course of the story, which makes the ending of the film both funny and thought-provoking. Directed by Louis D'Esposito, the film never hides its low-budget nature, but this doesn't work against it. On the contrary, it captures a more intimate and human tone, far from the noise of large-scale productions. It reminds us that even within the vast narrative of the MCU, stories of ordinary individuals can find a place. Building such a world in such a short time as eleven minutes is not easy. Item 47 is both an entertaining curiosity reliever for those who are wondering what is going on in the invisible corners of the Marvel universe and a small but valuable proof of how layered this vast narrative is built.

_Item 47_ is probably the most complete Marvel One-Shot as a stand-alone entity, unfortunate that it never payed off in the MCU at large in the way that you might hope. _Final rating:★★★½ - I really liked it. Would strongly recommend you give it your time._

Complete enough to be a short film all on its own, we get a humourous, if mildly gritty, glimpse of what the events of Avengers Assemble left for S.H.I.E.L.D. to clean up. Found as a bonus feature on that movie's disc, and among the collected One-Shots on the bonus disc in the Phase 1 box set.
