GOAT
Details
Small bodies, big dreams... This production, which is destined to be one of the most cute but not so stunning narratives in the animation world, draws you into a magical but extremely familiar universe from the point of view of a little goat named Will from the first scene. Sometimes we feel like a leaf in front of giant waves; Will's story embodies exactly this feeling. The sport called roarball is not only an invention of the world of fiction; it is also a poetic reflection of all kinds of competition areas in real life, all kinds of "there is no place for you" messages. In this league, defined by his speed, strength and ferocity, Will has to contend not only with opponents, but also with the cold stares of his own teammates. This dichotomy forms the emotional backbone of the film and takes the story far beyond a typical underdog scenario. Director Tyree Dillihay blends the classic dramatic structure of sports movies with a vibrant and colorful animation aesthetic to create a language that appeals equally to both children and adults. The cast, bolstered by powerful voices like Caleb McLaughlin and Gabrielle Union, adds both depth and warmth to the characters. The involvement of NBA star Stephen Curry in this project demonstrates how solid the bridge between basketball culture and the animation world is. One of the most successful aspects of the film is that it deals with bullying and exclusion with an honesty that children can understand but not underestimate, without putting on sugar coating. The obstacles that Will has to face are not only physical; prejudices, stereotypes and the mentality of "people like you can't do this job" also need to be fought. This production, which provides brisk, funny and unexpectedly touching moments for about 100 minutes, reminds us that dreaming big is not a crazy, but a courageous act. The kind of movies that make the audience laugh, knot your throat from time to time and warm you up as you leave the hall are Decaying gradually; that's why GOAT is preparing to be a work that deserves to be remembered especially among the family animations of 2026.

The “Thorns” aren’t doing so well in the “Roarball” league despite the presence of the legendary leopard “Jet” so when owner “Flo” sees a video of the feisty young goat “Will” giving one of the sport’s other celebrities “Mane” a run for his money, she decides to sign him up. It’s a combination of American football and basketball; it’s quickly paced and occasionally violent so needless to say captain “Jet” isn’t impressed with their diminutive and attitudinal young signing. Initially, the whole t...

It’s a film that shines brightest when it focuses on Will’s personal growth and Jett’s necessary redemption, even when it stumbles over expository dialogue or a predictability that cools the i...

I am very split on this movie. It's not bad, but also nothing special. First off: The visuals and character designs are lovely! Like several recent Sony Animations movies, this one was visually really nice and the animations were nice once you get used to the "stuttering" animations style. (similar to "Supa Team 4" or the combat scenes from "Puss in Boots: The Last Wish." The general story is the really basic "underdog", or, undergoat story including all of it's tropes and stereotypes: "p...

Sony Pictures Animation is still the "goat" of making stylized animated movies, because this one was extremely entertaining! On the surface, it feels like a typical underdog movie-small protagonist tries to prove himself, a major team gives him a position, they all win-it's pretty much laid out there from the start. But that's where things change. You see, once the main character of Goat, Will Harris, joins the Thorns, his favorite roarball team (yes, that's what they call basketball in this mov...
