Sometimes the greatest discoveries are made from the most unexpected places. Using the desolate forests and waters of Oregon as a background, this animated film offers the kind of story that both children and adults can read in different layers. On the surface, it's a colorful, fun, and fast-paced adventure; deep down, serious questions about technology, identity, and the relationship with nature resonate. Young Mabel, who carries animal love much further than an ordinary passion, resorts to an unorthodox way to overcome the invisible wall that rises in front of man's understanding of nature. When he steps into the world of beavers with a technology that transfers human consciousness into robotic animal bodies, what he encounters is not only cute animals and harmless surprises. The balances, mysteries, and threats inherent in nature take on a completely different meaning for him. Shaped under the direction of Daniel Chong, the film masterfully explores how humans redefine themselves when they must view the world through another creature's eyes. One of the film's most notable achievements is its ability to convey such a complex concept as transhumanism without alienating the child audience. "Who am I?" and "No matter what body I live in, does who I am change?This approach, which blends questions like these with an adventurous rhythm, makes a fine addition to the bold narrative tradition occasionally displayed by modern animated cinema. The voice cast also comes to life in keeping with the spirit of the film. Jon Hamm's charismatic presence is balanced by the powerful voice acting of Bobby Moynihan and Kathy Najimy, while the duo of Dave Franco and Eduardo Franco keeps the comedic tone of the film alive. The sincerity that Piper Curda brings to Mabel makes the character both sympathetic and realistic. In terms of visual language, the colors inspired by Oregon's nature and the depth offered by 3D animation draw the viewer into this world step by step. At moments when the line between man and nature blurs, the film shows its true power; it promises both Decadent excitement to small audiences and a thought-provoking journey to older ones. You shouldn't leave your seat until after the credits, because the movie doesn't end until it says its final word.

I REALLY liked this movie, the best Pixar movie in years for me. To be fair, maybe that's just because of me being an environmentalist myself, but hey, in the end, reviews here are supposed to be subjective, I guess! Mabel, the main character, is a lovely main character. An environmentalist since childhood, depicted by her actions of demonstrating, collecting signatures, blocking building sites and even being carried away by police. Feels more like a Dreamworks movie than a Pixar one. It was pretty fun but it felt unambitious compared to their other movies, there aren't many characters of note or many locations to make it feel like an adventure (most of the movie takes place in the glade or the university, both of which are fairly simple). The overarching story is also a bit... Meh. I feel like a lot of characters could've been explored and the story could've been more than just "save the glade". It's still a good popcor...
