This Italian independent production, signed by Carolina Cavalli, brings an unusual escape story to the screen in its own unique language. Arabella is at the center of the movie; A young woman who is squeezed by social expectations and her own inner world, and who cannot fully exist. When life suddenly drags into an unexpected event, everything becomes both more complex and strangely more colorful. Cavalli does not confine the story to an ordinary thriller. The narrative, nourished by the road movie tradition, follows the characters as they open up to the outside world and at the same time confront themselves. Heavy themes such as body image, loneliness and the search for identity are wrapped in a humorous, almost fairy-tale-like atmosphere that seems to contradict the general tone of the film but actually complements it. This contrast keeps the viewer constantly alert; While you are laughing at a scene, you suddenly realize that you are in something much deeper. The story, based on the chemistry between Benedetta Porcaroli and Lucrezia Guglielmino, delicately establishes how these two characters are different from each other but also need each other. Chris Pine adds a surprising energy to the narrative by taking on a role other than his usual image. Cavalli weaves a feminist perspective into fiction without resorting to didacticism. What emerges as a result is; A movie that makes you laugh and think, a little dizzying but definitely not ordinary. It's an option that's hard to ignore for those who love independent cinema and are interested in productions that create space for unconventional women's stories.
