Sıradaki Yağmur Bize Gelsin

The question of whether creativity is a blessing or a burden inevitably haunts everyone who tries to live immersed in art, sooner or later. Although studying fine arts may seem like a romantic journey from the outside, when it is experienced from the inside, it often means confronting your own inadequacy. Directed by Yağmur Türkmenoğlu, this short film takes us into the psyche of a young woman at precisely this vulnerable moment. At the center of the story is an art student who was once self-confident but whose self-confidence has now eroded. While those around him are caught up in the ordinary flow of life, he remains standing still. This feeling expertly sums up the existential predicament that generation Z is experiencing: Why are you still at the same point when everyone seems to be moving from one place to another? When you cannot find an answer, you retreat into worlds created by your mind, shaped not by reality but by desire. The most original aspect of the film is how it constructs this escape through musical imagery. The world of imagination is not the product of an ordinary inner voice, but of an imagination that grows through music. This permeability between reality and fantasy gives the narrative both emotional breadth and visual freedom. Musical elements here serve not as ornamentation but as the only consistent way to express the character's inner language. The character played by Ada Taştan neither makes the audience feel pity nor heroic; she just seems familiar. This familiarity is the film's most valuable asset. The cast, consisting of Kağan Uluca, Ahmet Gürata, and other actors, subtly demonstrates how the environment serves as a mirror. The progress of others makes stagnation more visible. Instead of being confined within the boundaries of the short form, Türkmenoğlu used this limit as a formal choice. The narrative's breathless yet intense structure also reflects the temporal pressure the character feels. Let the Rain Come to Us Next focuses on that moment of standstill that is skipped over in most growth stories; the silent crisis of those who can't move forward but can't get out of it. And while doing this, they don't feel compelled to resolve anything, which is one of their boldest choices.
