Director Erdem, who lives in that uncertain area between creativity and dream, finds himself in the middle of a both cinematic and existential question mark one night: What kind of film should he make? Going to bed with this question, Erdem is dragged into a strange dream instead of an ordinary sleep. The real surprise comes after that dream; A young girl claims to have had the same dream. This short film, directed by and starring Erdem Tursen, intertwines the idea of making a movie with the very act of turning it into a movie. So, in a way, the film tells the story of its own birth. Such metafictional approaches can sometimes create a cold and intellectual distance; However, here, on the contrary, a very personal and fragile feeling prevails. The director's narration of his behind-the-scenes concerns, creative blockage and internal reckonings to the audience, almost as if he were recording a diary, transforms the work into a sincere inner conversation. The question of whether the dream can be shared or not constitutes one of the most attractive layers of the film. How special and how universal are dreams? Is it possible to touch someone else's mind, or do we always hear the echo of our own inner world? These questions feed the intellectual texture of the film, not its dramatic tension. The work, which bears the traces of an independent, gropingly growing understanding of cinema, is nourished not by the magnificence of big productions, but by the weight of the moment and the problem. It offers an intimate and thought-provoking experience for those who believe that cinema and dreams are truly two dialects of the same language.
