Ice Age: Collision Course
Details
Scrat, the most adorable and chaos-loving squirrel from prehistoric times, still appears with the same obsession after five films: that acorn. But this time, the little rodent's adventures aren't just wreaking havoc on Earth; they're literally taking place in space. The fifth installment in the series, this film unusually plunges the franchise into the depths of the universe and leaves the viewer alone with both the warmth of familiar characters and the cold breath of a brand-new threat. The trio of Manny, Sid, and Diego now has a deep-rooted history. Their journey, which began as a mammoth, a sloth, and a saber-toothed tiger, took shape around family, friendship, and the feeling of belonging. In this film, however, the threat takes on a completely different dimension: an approaching meteorite from the sky promises an inevitable end for all the breathing inhabitants of the prehistoric world. Therefore, this time the journey is not just about survival, but somehow about changing fate. The film's tone leans towards a broader and more outrageous direction compared to previous installments in the series. Dinosaurs, the mystery of space, and unexpected characters further spice up the already crowded cast. Under the direction of Mike Thurmeier, visual feasts are tried to be presented; especially the space scenes and meteor showers, the kind that can put little viewers in their seats. Still, the film's biggest asset, as always, is the dynamics between the characters. Manny's overprotective paternal reflexes, Sid's pure but sincere optimism, and the warmth under Diego's hard shell have created a familiar family feeling over the years. This familiarity elevates the film beyond being just another animation and infuses it with nostalgia. This production, which tries to be a pleasant farewell for long-term fans of the Ice Age series, reminds adults how precious the moments spent together are while offering a colorful adventure to children. Being able to laugh together even when the sky turns dark remains one of the series' most enduring messages.

**This time the trouble comes finding them.** It was handed over to the two new directors and the result is not so good. This is a most simplest film in the 'Ice Age' series. For the first time, the franchise is in real trouble. Though it managed well at the box office, which is a below par compared to the previous installments. It looks like a short film or it should have been a short film. From the adventures to the locations, everything shrunk in this sequel. Except Scrat, who goes for a l...

What is it about these Ice Age movies that don't seem quite right? I think I just don't like the sound of any of the voice actors... its like some kind of torture having them all in the same place and the same time. Of course, the kids don't mind, and like all the other Ice Age movies, this one is quite watchable and entertaining for them. The weasel never fails to amuse and I look forward to his antics every time (this one also happens to be a nice compliment to the PS4 game). Disclaimer: I did...

Another hilarious Ice Age. These are definitely my favorite animation series. I normally hate animation movies. With the exception of Beavis & Butthead.

I think these worked fine with the simple dynamic as an eclectic bunch of beasties tried to bond trying to survive an impending exceedingly heavy frost. Now we have decided to let “Scrat” - who has now become just plain annoying, to chase his ever elusive acorn into outer space. Oh, if only he had been stranded there but no he manages to set in train a globally existential threat when he plays with with a not so defunct alien spaceship and ends up pinging a few large asteroids our way. Now they ...
