Your Name.
Details
Some stories affect you even before they are told; it's as if they remind you of something you had forgotten a long time ago. This 2016 animated film by Makoto Shinkai evokes exactly this kind of feeling in the viewer. The film, which is about the bond between a high school student living on the crowded streets of Tokyo and a young girl who feels trapped in a remote village in Japan, looks like an innocent Deconstruction story at first glance, but it stands in a much deeper and much more fragile place. In this film, Shinkai skillfully intertwines the inner worlds of two strangers by separating time and space. The characters feel without knowing each other, miss without remembering. That's why the feeling experienced as a viewer throughout the film feels strange yet familiar; a longing you can't quite put a name to, a desire to belong somewhere, to someone. While the fine details of everyday Japanese life, traditional rituals and the cultural gap between rural and urban set an intimate Decking for the film, the supernatural elements built on it take this ground to a poetic dimension. The visual language of the film offers a separate experience. Each frame is meticulously designed to attract the viewer in. Sunsets, play of light, and sky scenes arise not merely from an aesthetic concern, but from conscious choices that serve the narrative profoundly. The story itself also does not proceed in a linear line; this ambiguity turns into a conscious narrative tool, while the viewer from time to time questions where and when it happened. Instead of keeping romance superficial, the film transforms it into an existential question: Is it necessary to touch, see, or talk to someone to truly know them? This question, which makes us question how memory and emotion work in separate layers, takes on a much heavier meaning, especially later in the story. The film, which broke box office records in Japan and reached millions of viewers worldwide, also proves how universal the animation genre can be an interpreter of emotions. A production that is watched with both heart and mind, leaving an impression both while it's being watched and after it ends.

I would never take it away from anyone, but I was underwhelmed. _Final rating:★★ - Definitely not for me, but I sort of get the appeal._

**They're no strangers, yet they've never met.** Probably the most anticipated anime since the final film of Mr. Miyazaki. Because people know what these guys are capable of. This is one per cent sci-fi and 99 per cent fantasy. The concept is not new for us. From 'Freaky Friday' to 'The Lake House', even the recent American television film 'The Swap', you will remember a handful of names once you read this film's synopsis. Yet the film was so good, because of how well the theme was utilised. ...

An absolutely stunning film! There is nothing to even marginally dislike about <em>'Your Name'</em>. The animation is sensational, breathtaking in fact. The amount of detail, particularly in Tokyo, is insane. It's utterly gorgeous to watch. Then you have the magnificent story, which is filled to the brim with feeling and meaning. I felt everything that it intended me to. It's also paced to perfection and is told through two memorable characters in Taki (Ryūnosuke Kamiki) and Mitsuha (Mone ...

Your Name is a film that captivates its audience from beginning to end with its superb and incredibly unique storyline. The body swap genre is one that has been explored in various films, but the way it was intertwined with a love story in Your Name is brilliant. What sets this film apart is its refusal to hold the audience's hand. The first act is dedicated to determining what exactly is going on, and this ambiguity only serves to make the movie better. The final act is incredible, with high st...

If we look at it as a movie; The script and frame connections are great. Their music is considered good. He explained what he wanted to say, the idea of panentheism, that everything in the universe is connected to each other, can change, can be broken and repeats. If we look at it as anime; The visuals are satisfying and the animations are very good. It made me experience those feelings while watching it.
