While all the excitement of the space race was being sought in rockets and astronauts, the presence of a group of women behind the scenes who quickly ran their pencils on paper waited to be overshadowed by history for decades. This film, directed by Theodore Melfi, brings to the screen the story of three Black women with brilliant minds who ensured the accuracy of calculations during NASA's most critical period. And in doing so, it neither falls into the trap of a cheap heroic tale nor attempts to soften the harsh realities of the era. Virginia in the 1960s was a time when racial segregation permeated every aspect of both legal and everyday life. Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, and Janelle Monáe bring to life characters who must contend not only with their gender but also with the color of their skin in this atmosphere. All three are equipped with different abilities and goals; all three must exert exponentially more effort to progress. The acting is so heartfelt that every victory of the characters brings genuine joy to the audience's hearts, while every injustice leaves a lump in the throat. One of the film's strongest aspects is how it expresses anger silently but resolutely, rather than by shouting it out. Discrimination is not melodramatic material here; it emerges as a cold, bureaucratic, and utterly ordinary barrier. The characters played by Kevin Costner, Kirsten Dunst, and Jim Parsons are also portrayed as representatives of the system that carries bricks to this wall. Some are aware, some aren't, but the result is always the same. The scenes related to mathematics and space science never feel exclusionary to the audience. On the contrary, it makes you realize how great a vision a person can possess behind the numbers. While John Glenn's orbit revolves around a name in history, the minds that trusted that name have barely found a place in history books. Hidden Numbers sheds light on a historical injustice while also painting a portrait of solidarity and resilience. It's the kind of film that makes you feel both proud and sad after watching it, and makes you wonder how much people don't ask about. The unknown pages of the past sometimes leave the deepest scars.

**The other side story of the historic event!** This film did not just represented the black people, but the women as well. Today we talk about discrimination against women, though this film is an example that it all had started way long ago, yet the struggle has not ended. Anyway, this is a biopic, a biopic of three women and their struggle not just being a black, but being women. When the nation was eager to send its first man to the space, there was some trouble within the team who are beh...

Do not at all think that by my feelings I attempt to diminish the achievements of those who made _Hidden Figures_ nor the real women around which the story revolves, this simply just wasn't for me. _Final rating:★★½ - Not quite for me, but I definitely get the appeal._

This is quite a compelling story of three ladies who played a crucial part in the NASA operation that ultimately put John Glen into space. All three were mathematicians drafted in to provide their skills but unlike so many of their colleagues, they were subject to prejudices surrounding their race and their gender. The women adopted the best solution to combat this bigotry, though - they decided there are more ways than one to skin a cat and so let their astonishing talents do their talking for ...

More racist and misandrist garbage from the Neo-Nazis in Hollywood. A completely fabricated lie about alleged "true events." Don't support these racist pieces of filth and their divisive and facist agenda.
