Set in perhaps one of the most emotional corners of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this third film allows us to see the characters we've been watching for more than eight years with a completely different eye. James Gunn reveals what the galaxy has to say about the others, the lost and the families that fractures form together in this film Decently in its most mature form. Rocket Raccoon has remained a character hidden behind visual comedy and a tough exterior since the first film in the series. In this film, Gunn slowly peels back that shell and shares with the audience what lies beneath. This narrative, in which an animal is fictionalized as both an object and a victim and an existential question mark, goes far beyond MCU standards and turns into an almost independent science fiction drama. Encountering a superhero film that reflects so intimately on identity, memory, and the difference between being created and existing is unexpectedly moving. However, the film takes place during a period when the group was on the verge of breaking up. As each character grapples with their own inner journey, the bond between them feels both fragile and incredibly strong. The concept of the chosen family goes beyond a slogan in this film and gains real dramatic weight. It should be noted in advance that something you've been suppressing may come to the surface right after scenes that make you laugh while watching. The villain's design also ranks among the most memorable in the series. This figure, which demonstrates what a pure ideology can become, serves as a mirror deeply connected to the film's central themes rather than a superficial obstacle. Gunn's musical selection is as strong as ever, the action's pace is satisfying, and the humor never undermines the dramatic weight. But these aren't really what sets this film apart from the rest. Those who have watched Guardians of the Galaxy for the first time may be surprised, but for those who have followed all three films, this closure welcomes the love for these characters as they deserve. It was planned as a farewell, but it's the kind of farewell that leaves a mark on the audience.

I did indeed enjoy this movie but I have to say that I would have enjoyed it even more if it had not been such a comedy superhero movie. It is full of silly, cringeworthy and, as usual with Hollywood nowadays, not very intelligent attempts at humor. Slapstick at best and mostly just annoying. An excellent way to conclude <em>'Guardians of the Galaxy'</em>. <em>'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3'</em> is my favourite of the trilogy, it's easily top ten from the MCU as a whole too. There's a ridiculous amount of heart placed in throughout, none more so than with a certain Rocket Racoon; those early scenes are so well done visually. This might be one of the most uplifting endings to a Marvel movie so far, every main character got a lovely send-off.
