Even Kryptonite can't separate them: a superhero and his most loyal friend. This production, which transports the DC universe into the world of colorful animation, opens up a completely different adventure by intertwining childhood dreams and the love of pets. What about a world without Superman? More importantly, what about a world without Krypto? Directed by Jared Stern, the film is one of the rare animations that can appeal to both children and adults layer by layer, fed from DC comics, but developing its own unique tone. The friendship between the duo floating in Metropolis' skies forms the emotional backbone of the film. However, when this friendship is shaken one day, Krypto finds himself part of a team he never expected. Coming out of the shelter, this new team consisting of interesting animals is uncharismatic, inexperienced, and not quite ready. But perhaps this is exactly what is needed. One of the film's biggest assets is that Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart recreate their on-screen chemistry in the voice-over booth this time around. The contrast between the two adds incredible energy to the characters. Keanu Reeves' portrayal of Batman constitutes one of the film's most humorous surprises. The villain character played by Kate McKinnon expertly takes classic super villain clichés and reimagines them through an absurd comedy filter. It would be unfair to consider the production solely as a children's film. On the surface, it is a colorful, funny and brisk animation, but when you dig a little deeper, it seems to contain a sincere inquiry about addiction, fear of loneliness and what true friendship means. Krypto's journey is not merely a physical rescue operation, but also a story of inner growth. Visually, the film appeals to the eye with its vibrant color palette and dynamic action sequences. The pace of the scenes never slows down; it keeps little ones glued to their seats while delivering moments that make adults smile. You shouldn't miss the credits either, because the production is full of surprises even at that point. Many animations have been made about pets; but this one is the kind that dresses them in cape-like costumes, brings them on stage, and then makes them truly deserve it.
