Four minutes. It's hard to believe that a film can expand a universe in such a short time, but this small but concise short film from the Marvel Cinematic Universe achieves exactly that. At first glance, it may seem like an attempt to fill in the gaps in a feature-length production, but in fact, something much more clever is at play here. S.H.I .E.L.D. Anyone who has heard of this organization has sensed how complex a bureaucratic structure it is. This short film opens a small window behind the scenes of that structure. As two agents try to solve an extremely unusual situation at an ordinary diner table, the viewer both laughs and gathers new clues about the workings of this secret world. The dialogues are sharp, the rhythm is tight, and every second is used calculatedly. Agent Coulson, played by Clark Gregg, also carries his cool-headed, omniscient but not revealing character, which MCU fans love very much, completely here. Agent Sitwell, played by Maximiliano Hernández, adds a new dynamic to this duo. Mutual conversations between two agents offer a tension very different from the explosion and action scene we see in big-budget superhero movies; it reminds us that desk diplomacy creates its own kind of tension. Dec. Robert Downey Jr.'s short-term but remarkable appearance stands out as one of the small surprises of the film. The shadow of Iron Man makes itself felt even in these few minutes, and this situation once again reveals how meticulously woven the MCU is as a whole. The Marvel One-Shot series is designed to shed light on aspects that the main films either failed to cover or deemed unnecessary to cover. This first episode proves in a simple and compelling way why the series should exist. For those who believe that great stories are hidden in small details, these four minutes become a time period far more valuable than anticipated.

Serves functionally to reframe and thus correct an incongruity in _The Incredible Hulk_. That's all well and good, but it plays out so awkwardly that it almost wasn't worth it. _Final rating:★★½ - Had a lot that appealed to me, didn’t quite work as a whole._

A short diner scene with cute banter that helps connect Incredible Hulk to the MCU. Found as an extra on the Thor disc and among the collected One-Shots on the bonus disc in the Phase 1 box set.
