Wednesday Addams has been one of pop culture's most iconic figures for decades; however, this Netflix series manages to present that familiar silhouette in a brand new light. The production, which centers on this character known for his dark humor, gothic aesthetics and sharp wit, carries both a nostalgic feeling and builds a unique identity of his own. Nevermore Academy is not an ordinary boarding school. Here, vampires, werewolves, invisibles and witches walk in the same corridors. However, the series does not use these fantasy elements merely for decorative purposes. On the contrary, it uses this world as a metaphor to deeply question the issue of "being different." Everyone around Wednesday has somehow been left out of society, misunderstood, or felt compelled to hide themselves. In this respect, the series tells a deeply heartfelt and universal story of loneliness beneath the surface. Jenna Ortega's performance is the cornerstone of the production. Ortega, who manages to dominate the screen without moving a November muscle, takes Wednesday beyond robotic coldness; he adds a fragile but never self-pitying depth to the character. It should be noted that the supporting cast also supports this story with strong performances. The tone of the production is built on contrasts. Like a nightmare, it delivers a sudden blow of dark humor during tense moments; while investigating mysterious murders, it intertwines with the absurd dramas of high school life. Although this balance is occasionally shaken, the overall atmosphere possesses a gravitational pull that keeps viewers glued to the screen. Visually, too, the series meticulously handles gothic aesthetics; gloomy spaces, cold color palette and carefully designed costumes create a holistic world. This production, in which Tim Burton contributed as executive producer, embraces the familiar solitary and eccentric hero archetype that bears his signature. However, instead of remaining in the nostalgic shadow of Burton's aesthetic, the series strives to find its own voice, and largely succeeds. This story, which carries the weight of mystery, growth and not belonging together, offers something not only for those who are proud of being "different", but also for everyone who can't feel Decently belonging anywhere.

Wednesday Mary Sue Addams, I counted at least 10 things she's perfect at. If not for the woke ideology being pushed, this could be a very good tv series. Steer clear.

Wednesday's plot focuses on it's surface between the balance of power between normal everyday people (Like you and I), and (I don't know a better way to put it) cryptid kids; Wednesday (played by Jenna Ortega) is part of the latter (obviously). As the plot thickens, we find out that power struggle between the groups has been ingrained in everyone for generations. You may even say it's been institutionalized since the community's inception. People can read into this however they want; what r...

One of those hard to endure type fantasy shows. Unnecessary and often predictably silly dialogues, bizarre character relations and motivations, shallow plot. On the bright side the show does get bearable with time plus some great cello music selection.

The show takes viewers on a journey into the mind of Wednesday Addams, exploring her eerie and supernatural world as she grows into her own. The writing is sharp and witty, with a cast of endearing and frightening characters that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The special effects and production design are top-notch, fully immersing viewers into Wednesday's spooky and fantastical world. Overall, I highly recommend Wednesday for fans of the macabre and those looking for a fresh and exciti...

Watchable with some good messages and some good lines although the grumpy teenager became a bit tiresome. I felt it was rather a missed opportunity given the large source material available. Or maybe there wasn't enough to Wednesday's character to extend beyond being gloomy for 8 episodes. A good level of humanity given most characters aren't human.

## **Wednesday (2022) Review: From Promising Start to Perfect Pitch in a Glorious Season 2** Rarely does a television series not only meet its immense potential but dramatically surpass it, evolving from a hit into a flat-out masterpiece. Such is the arc of *Wednesday*. While its first season was a clever, enjoyable 8/10 introduction to the Addams Family heiress, **Season 2 has elevated the show to a flawless 10/10**, solidifying its place as a modern gothic classic by fully embracing the mac...
