In a world where the earth is no longer habitable, thousands of people live in a giant underground structure. They don't know exactly how long they've been there, or why it's become like this outside. There is only one thing they know: getting out of the silo means death. Or at least that's what they say. Silo is building a world based on this acceptance. Adapted by Graham Yost for Apple TV+ from Hugh Howey's novel of the same name, this production stands out as one of the most mature and meticulous examples of the dystopian fiction genre in recent years. However, what sets it apart from other dystopian narratives is its investment in atmosphere and character rather than action. Here, it's not about explosions or major riots; rather, a quiet tension pervades everything. That tension doesn't just pin the viewer to their seat; it erases, melts away, and gradually draws them in. Rebecca Ferguson delivers an outstanding performance as the engineer Juliette. When the character begins searching for the truth, the audience unknowingly finds themselves right in the middle of that search. The questions Juliette asks seem simple at first: Why? Why now? Why is this? But each answer opens a new door, and the room behind that door is much darker than the one before. One of the series' strongest aspects is that it shows the inner workings of a society that has normalized obedience to the system rather than questioning it. Fear has replaced chains here. People avoid crossing borders not because it is dangerous outside, but because they are forced to believe that it is dangerous outside. This establishes an indirect yet powerful dialogue with the present moment and transforms the production from being merely an escapist fantasy into a genuine intellectual experience. This heavy, somber mood is meticulously preserved in the visual design, music, and editing as well. Silo is a production designed to disturb rather than entertain, and this is precisely its greatest virtue. At the end of each episode, you leave the screen with unanswered questions lingering in your mind, unable to put things to rest. And you're having a hard time not opening the next episode.

Based on the novels by author Hugh Howey, Silo is off to an intriguing start. Yet the question remains, will Silo amount to anything meaningful? After two episodes, that raise more questions than they answer, its hard to tell. So far, what can be clearly enunciated is a quality back story. A story that's akin to Plato’s Allegory of the Cave, with a dystopian, almost cyber punk setting, in an underground, end of the world, style bunker. A strong cast back up, the so far, elaborate story an...

Simply great storytelling. And though the visuals quickly get repetitive due to the setting, it's great to see. Giving it a 10 for now, and unless the final few episodes are horrible, I won't be changing my rating to anything less than a 9.

Excellent Fallout fan fiction of what life would be like inside a vault. Focuses on grim drama and semi-realism over humor and irony, which is a shift in perspective from the Fallout games that shows how versatile that universe really is. I understand the author of the Wool-series that Silo is based on has to deny any relationship to Fallout for copyright reasons. (Though he wink-wink admitted he played the first two games.) If you have played the games, you will find the parallels far outnum...

First of all, let me tell you that this show is based on a book. So, kudos and all praise to the author of the book for such an amazing story. Now, about show... Show itself isn't bad. It's interesting, but sadly it's infected with DEI woke propaganda. Watching the show you would have an illusion that 80% of people are black and people of color, which we already know isn't true and they're minority. Secondly, literally every couple in this show are mixed or non-white. It's very clear that show h...
