How simple it sounds to be an ordinary fifteen-year-old high school student, right? However, for Kurosaki Ichigo, life has never been ordinary. This young man, born with the ability to see spirits, unknowingly finds himself in the midst of an adventure that extends far beyond the world of mortals. When Bleach debuted on screens in 2004, it went down in history not only as an animated series but as a work that redefined the shonen genre. This series, adapted from Tite Kubo's manga of the same name, may seem at first glance like an action story filled with spirits. But when you dig a little deeper, it turns out that he handles universal themes extremely skillfully, such as the search for identity, the burden of responsibility, and a person's confrontation with the darkness within himself. The series fascinatingly portrays the fine line between the urban atmosphere and the otherworldly realm. In the streets of an ordinary Japanese town, those fragile curtains that suddenly open in seemingly ordinary moments are both frightening and fascinating. This fluidity keeps the viewer constantly tense and curious; it's unclear what will emerge from behind every corner. Ichigo avoids portraying a hero profile that fits the genre's stereotypes. This character, strong yet fragile, stubborn yet deeply empathetic, is one of the rare protagonists with whom the audience can truly connect. The characters alongside him are also crafted with the same care; each becomes a side story with their own backstory, motivation, and internal conflicts. Visually, Bleach possesses an understanding of atmosphere creation that was far ahead of its time. Every detail, from the simplicity of the Shinigami's attire to the complex hierarchy of the spirit world, is the product of meticulous design that makes the universe believable. this journey, which holds an epic breath with 407 episodes, leaves a lasting mark not only with the excitement of the fight scenes, but also with the depth of the bonds that the characters have formed with each other. Once you're sucked into this world, getting out will be much harder than you think.

Having long avoided this due to the hype it had, I finally decided to pick it up. Hype can often be just that: hype. In the case of Bleach, it was justifiable and were I younger, it definitely would've been that good. You see, the main character is a teenager who discovers that his ability to see spirits can allow him to battle transformed and evil ones too. Since the main character is a teenager, he does a lot of what teenagers do. He's impulsive and lacks foresight, somewhat arrogant, d...
