Rising from Chicago's working-class neighborhoods, this series offers one of American television's boldest and most honest family portraits. Shameless, which set out inspired by the British original but gradually found its own voice, both made viewers laugh and shook them to their core over the course of eleven seasons. The Gallagher family lives in a corner of society overlooked by the public, in a daily routine marked by bills, debts, and survival instincts. Frank Gallagher, William H. He is reflected on the screen as the father figure who comes to life with Macy's extraordinary performance; but this father is not a safe haven for his children, but often the greatest source of danger. The responsibility placed on the shoulders of six siblings robs them of their childhood, while at the same time making them incredibly resilient, cunning and connected individuals. The heart of the series beats in the silent sacrifice of the older sister, Fiona. But Shameless is not just one person's struggle; it handles with equal care the conflicts, identity searches and small victories that each brother experiences in his own inner world. Each name, especially the Lip character played by Jeremy Allen White, is revealed layer by layer as the season progresses, and the viewer is connected not in spite of these people, but precisely because of their flaws. The series never uses comedy as an escape. The humor here emerges from the midst of the pain; one scene leaves you in fits of laughter while the next literally silences you. This balance is the most important feature that sets Shameless apart from a typical "dysfunctional family" narrative. Heavy themes such as poverty, addiction, neglect, and loneliness are brought to the screen without resorting to melodrama or sugarcoating reality. Of course, there were moments throughout the eleven seasons when it reached its peak and at other times it left one feeling exhausted. However, at its best, Shameless offers a raw sense of reality that television rarely achieves. When the Gallagher family's story ends, the feeling left behind is the sadness of leaving a family—a flawed, crazy, and yet all too familiar family.

10/10

An alcoholic man lives in a perpetual stupor while his six children cope as best they can. Creators: John Wells, Paul Abbott Stars: Emmy Rossum, William H. Macy, Ethan Cutkosky and others. My personal opinion: I liked this show so much. I liked that all the truth and the situations that can be met in the real life were shown as realistic as possible. Even if there were a lot of negative reviews on the internet, I truly think that this show is a very good one. It has 8 seasons, the ni...
