Bates Motel
Details
Bringing the spirit of one of the most iconic thrillers in cinema history into the language of modern television is an undertaking that demands both courage and carries significant risk. Carlton Cuse and Kerry Ehrin have faced this risk and built a dark and fascinating story that goes to the roots of Alfred Hitchcock's immortal work and questions how characters become like this. The result is a five-season journey that profoundly impacted both Psycho fans and those who first encountered the series as a gateway to this universe. At the heart of the story is the strange, suffocating, and yet fragile relationship between mother and son. Norma Bates is a complex woman trying to turn over a new leaf in a secluded seaside town in Oregon, carrying the weight of her past and acting with the motive of protecting her son from everything. Norman, on the surface, appears to be a calm, elegant, and sensitive young man; however, beneath this soft exterior lies something much darker. The way Vera Farmiga and Freddie Highmore bring these two characters to life takes the series far beyond a run-of-the-mill thriller. The duo expertly portrays two people who both love each other and slowly destroy each other on the same stage. The series offers something far beyond a classic crime thriller: it examines how an individual is shaped, which wounds deeply change a person, and how the family can sometimes be the greatest security, sometimes the greatest burden. The town functions almost like a character, with its atmosphere shrouded in secrets and twisted relationships; a new shadow is ready to emerge around every corner. Bates Motel leaves the viewer alone with the strange pain of loving a character and knowing in advance their inevitable fate. This information adds a heavy melancholic flavor to each episode; because you already know where Norman Bates is going, the real question is how he gets there. The answer to this "how" question is sought along a path that is both heartbreaking and deeply unsettling. For thriller lovers, it is a must-watch production that is psychologically rich and atmospherically powerful.

Unrelated, boring, ridiculous. I don't understand how this non-existent story became so popular that it got its TV show. The "Based on an original movie Psycho from 1960" is just clickbait, this story has nothing to do with the movie except the names of characters and location. Most of the episodes are filled with absurdly stupid and unrealistic plot twists which make the whole show boring and unpleasant to watch. The most common question asked every few minutes was "why". There are more fictio...
