The Blacklist
Details
Before getting to know Raymond "Red" Reddington, it is necessary to know this: when one of the most dangerous wanted criminals in the world walks to the door of the FBI one morning and surrenders, it would be a big mistake to confuse this gesture with an ordinary surrender. Because Reddington's game board is much larger, and its rules are entirely his own. This long-running series, launched by NBC in 2013, captivated viewers and kept them in a state of constant uncertainty for ten seasons. Reddington, portrayed by James Spader, stands out as one of the most complex, cleverly written, and unpredictable characters in television history. Spader fills the screen with charisma every time he enters the stage; he walks the fine line between politeness and danger so skillfully that the audience becomes unable to Decipher whether to love him or fear him. The series' essence stems from its intertwining of themes of crime, power, and identity. While a new name from the "Blacklist" is brought to light in each episode, the real tension stems from the web of secrets that grows beyond these names. Who is reliable, who is not? Is everything that seems really what it seems? The series tackles these questions without taking the easy way out, sometimes leaving them unresolved for years. The character Elizabeth Keen, on the other hand, serves as the moral compass of the story. Gradually transforming from an inexperienced, honest and system-believing profiler, this character is both growing and beginning to question through the relationship he has established with Reddington. The dynamic between the two forms the backbone of the series, and trying to Decipher where this relationship is nurtured from episode to episode is a satisfying experience in itself. The series, which sometimes Decelerates in terms of tempo, sometimes achieves an immersive flow, easily falls among the best examples of its kind, especially as of the first few seasons. For those who enjoy crime dramas and prefer detective thrillers with deep-drawn characters, this production offers a long, tiring but mostly satisfying journey. Reddington's next move will always be beyond prediction; therefore, it is wise to watch carefully.

This is one of the best shows that I've ever seen. Raymond Reddington is legendary. I hate that the show had to end.
