Late Night with Seth Meyers
Details
Hosted by Seth Meyers, this late night program has been on screens for more than a decade as one of the longest-running examples of American political satire and popular culture commentary. Inheriting NBC's long-standing late-night tradition, Meyers reinterprets this legacy with a distinctive wit and keen observational skills. The most distinctive feature of the program is that it never reduces entertainment to a mere tool. Meyers, with a slight smile, puts every joke he presents on a strong basis, confronting the audience with a political reality or right in the middle of a social irony. Especially the episodes known as "A Closer Look" stand out as moments that blend humor with a deep sense of journalism and push the boundaries of the late night format. In these segments, Meyers so skillfully examines political actors and media discourse that the audience does not even realize that he is thinking while laughing, and laughing while thinking. The program, which also presents an extremely rich picture in terms of guest staff, hosts interviews on a wide range of topics, from Hollywood's big names to independent artists, from politicians at the center of current debates to important figures of the literary world. However, these interviews often transform into a genuine dialogue platform rather than being a traditional promotional tool. With 13 seasons and over 1800 episodes, it is safe to say that this program holds documentary value. The structure, which functions as a time capsule recording one of the most turbulent periods of America through the language of laughter, goes far beyond being just an entertainment program. Meyers' hosting approach, combined with her writing instincts stemming from her career background, creates an experience far more layered than an ordinary late-night show. For those who are interested in American political humor, follow media criticism, or just want to learn something about the day with a brilliantly constructed joke, this program is the kind that is worth the investment of time. It both makes you laugh, makes you think, and doesn't let you leave the screen easily once it's over.

From Letterman to Seth, Late Night has lost it's way. Seth is boring, predictable and just not funny or entertaining. Moreover, he's a poor interviewer who seems to do little to no research into his guests. It's all self-aggrandizement where he is the focus.
