Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia
Details
Just hearing Guillermo del Toro's name can be considered a guarantee of quality in itself. The master director and screenwriter brought his unique ability to intertwine dark fairy tales with reality to the world of animation this time; what emerged was a layered and bold work that deeply affected both children and adults. At first glance, Arcadia is an ordinary American town. With its quiet streets, familiar faces, and monotonous daily life, it serves as a perfect backdrop. However, it soon becomes clear that this appearance is deceptive. The existence of a vast and complex world hidden from human sight beneath the town turns everything upside down. The responsibility placed on the shoulders of a young boy who must confront this hidden reality forms the emotional core of the series. The series draws inspiration from the essence of classic coming-of-age stories; universal themes such as the search for identity, courage, friendship, and sacrifice permeate each episode. But del Toro doesn't present these themes in a sugar-coated, easily digestible package. Characters really suffer, make mistakes, experience losses. This honesty is one of the most important elements that sets the series apart from its peers. The visual language is also extremely impressive. The architecture, color palette, and creature design of the troll world embody the gothic magic familiar from del Toro's cinematic universe. An aesthetic that can be dark and menacing is softened by a skillfully balanced sense of humor, resulting in an atmosphere that is both exciting and warm. With its expanding universe over three seasons, the series not only exists on its own; it serves as the first installment in the Tales of Arcadia series, laying the groundwork for subsequent productions. This also gives the feeling of piecing together the pieces of a larger picture while watching each episode. The TMDB score hovering above eight and a half is not for nothing. This production, which sometimes squeezes the heart, sometimes makes you laugh, sometimes creates a real sense of danger, proves once again that animation is an art form that knows no age limits.

**For the glory of Merlin, Daylight is mine to command!** SEASON 01: It has been twenty years since the revolution of 3D animation. The feature films are on the another level, but I always wondered why the television series are lagging behind on this. A few of them from the recent were not that impressive as this one. This surely would become a classic as the years to come. But don't judge it as it is only for children. That's what I surprised with. I should have seen it six months ago whe...

**It's time now for Gunmar to prepare to face the Trollhunters!** **_SEASON 02:_** I don't know how to begin, because I loved the first season. The review was one of the longest I've ever written for any title. But this follow up season did not stand up to that standard. It's still a nice show with nice animation and all, I enjoyed watching it, though lesser. I don't know what made it fall slightly. Maybe the first season had awesome villains and adventures, which totally lacked in this...

I didn't think I would enjoy this, but I did! It was viewed on TV time to time, but since I got Netflix I thought I would watch the whole thing. And you know what, the HD made it look amazing. Featuring a great cast, and a great storyline from season to season, Trollhunters was a fantastic fantasy animation. I think my fav highlight would be the series finale, especially when the late Anton Yelchin's voiceover was heard, from the start of the series of when he gave a speech about destiny....
