Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan
Details
Most viewers know John Krasinski as a cute and slightly clumsy office worker. But Jack Ryan, who we are facing here, is a completely different man. A CIA analyst who reads the world at a desk and can Decipher danger between numbers and patterns, but this analytical task eventually leads him into the most dangerous game on the field. This series, in which Graham Roland and Carlton Cuse breathe new life into the legendary character of Tom Clancy, is both a masterful representative of the thriller genre and a serious production that deals with the complex geopolitical balances of today's world. There is a thought in every frame of the screen: The real danger is not always in the open field, but lurks in the shadows of numbers, coded messages, and diplomatic negotiations. Ryan, played by John Krasinski, stands out as a figure different from the usual action heroes. This character, who stands out more for her mental acuity than her physical reflexes, represents a person who is both fragile and stubborn. James Greer, played by Wendell Pierce, leaves the audience with a different question mark in each episode. The tension between the two is not merely professional; it also has personal and moral foundations. The series takes your breath away across a vast geography, from the dim corridors of Europe to the sandstorms of the Middle East. But this geography is not merely a backdrop; each location adds meaning to the narrative through the historical and political weight it carries within itself. While unraveling the anatomy of terrorism, the production does not shy away from asking where humanity ends and where it begins. The series, which has acquired an increasingly deepening narrative structure over the course of its four seasons, offers the viewer both breathtaking scenes of suspense and heavy question marks that open up to the inner worlds of the characters. Behind every threat lies a story, and behind every decision lies a price. TMDB's 7.7 rating confirms this balance; neither pure action nor pure drama. Productions that can maintain that delicate balance between the two are always hard to find. For those who believe that you don't necessarily need to carry a gun to save the world, and that sometimes asking the right question is enough, this series is an unmissable experience.

Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan isn’t 24 or NCIS, at least from the first episode, but the rest of the season does have the potential to develop into something more. The series opens as an airstrike takes place in Lebanon, where the seeds of hate are sown for two young survivors. The story then cuts to the present day in Washington D.C. where we find our protagonist rowing in the Potomac River. Jack Ryan (played by John Krasinski) is a Boston College graduate, veteran U.S. Marine, and in the presen...

* A very pleasant surprise! We've only just signed up for Prime and this is the first series I watched. I'm glad I did too, because the action is very exciting, the characters are believable - even though they've taken a few liberties on Clancy's originals - and I enjoyed how the focus was swinging to and from the terrorists' point of view. Krasinski does a fine job as the young Ryan. Not too self effacing and nerdy and not over the top heroic. It's shot in 4K too and the cinematography is ...

Wendell Pierce is a bit.... young... isn't he? I mean he does a great job, but after James Earl Jones and Morgan Freeman you would expect someone that at least looks a bit older. Someone not so Gen-X. But then John Krasinski doesn't really look like someone that would have "Ryan" as a last name.... and, like Wendell, he does a good enough job too. John Hoogenakker, however, looks like the role he's playing, but that's really because we all expected him to be Clark. At least the people that...
