A lover-turned-killer, or the dark side of love? The answer varies depending on perspective; that's why You continues to deeply disturb viewers for years. This story, which began among the shelves of a bookstore in the crowded streets of New York, may seem at first glance like an ordinary love story. However, You's true mastery lies precisely here: in the way it interprets the novel, conveying Joe Goldberg's world through his own eyes. The inner voice of this young man, passionately attached to books, intelligent and charismatic, speaks in such a convincing, logical and even humane tone at times that the viewer finds himself on the side of this voice without realizing it. And at that very moment, the great trap set by the production closes. Penn Badgley brings such depth to Joe in the most defining role of his career that the character becomes both chilling and irresistibly compelling. This character, shaped under the shadow of childhood wounds, transforms love into a form of possessiveness and attention into a mechanism of control. They put all the tools offered by social media, city life, and modern relationships at the service of their own dark inner world. The series is not only a thriller or crime story; it also poses thought-provoking questions about romantic relationships. Where is the line between self-sacrifice and identity loss in a relationship? What is the difference between sacrificing oneself and destroying one's identity in a relationship? The female characters add different dimensions to these questions in the later seasons of the series, and the story renews itself by moving to a new geography and a new obsession every season. The pace never slows down over the course of five seasons; tension, dark humor, and psychological depth skillfully complement each other. This universe created by Greg Berlanti and Sera Gamble doesn't leave the viewer as a mere observer; it forces them to confront this darkness as well. It makes you feel what it's like to be complicit in a crime, perhaps for the first time from such an intimate perspective. You is a production designed to disturb. And the way it presents this discomfort in such an elegant manner makes it unforgettable.

So far, so good with You. It has a Dexter feel. You find yourself rooting for Joe, despite his deeply troubling behavior. He is a great guy in some ways and a horrible criminal in others. Lots of modern day stalking going on using smartphones and computers plus just good ol' fashioned regular creeping around. It's disturbing, sexy and fun all rolled into one. Enjoy! 8/10 stars.

Very interesting TV show about relationship and obsession. Show is quite interesting and acting is decent. Really binged on it. Characters are also well developed.

I am writing this review because I don’t see any point to this show whatsoever, and everyone here seems to be gushing over it. I’ve made it through the entire first season and there are no redeeming qualities to speak of. None of the characters face even the tiniest of consequences for any of their severely implausible actions. The solution to every problem that arises is “well I will just murder them” which, in terms of the writing is a complete cop out. In order to accept Joe’s actions, you ha...

I'm just deducting one star because vomit in every single episode seems to be a thing, common, people snack and watch TV, no need to see vomit in every episode. Other than that, interesting though totally unrealistic show. And you end up feeling sorry for Joe/Will, it's not that he's having bad luck, rather no luck at all...

This show is insanely good! I have been a fan since the first season and I must admit how insanely good Penn Badgley is good at his role as Joe Goldberg, it is like he does not need to act. He plays it very perfectly without any flaws; he never misses. But what caught my attention in Season 3, when it comes to acting, is the amazing Victoria Pedretti as Love Quinn, she totally stole the show! Seriously, if you want a show that has your heart racing and filled with "What the hell?" moments, t...

A glib and under-rating description would be "Dexter" meets "Shades of Grey" and Jane Austen. This dramedy combines the worst attributes of "Pop TV" - beautiful people, cliché dialog, white people's problems - with deep and troubling questions about the cultural variables of murder taboo, attraction, nuclear family, literacy, and 'romance'. The educated and skilled characters are all broken in different ways - the authoritarian Mr. Mooney, the mother looking for Mr. Goodbar, the 'New Age' ca...

Hello, You. I really loved this show. It is definitely worth a watch if you haven't seen it; however, it's not perfect. I want to specifically mention the 3rd season, if you know you know. SPOILERS, but the third season mostly consisted of Joe (the protagonist) and his wife, whom he stalked/ fell in love with in the last season (Love), constantly cheating on each other. This was, in my opinion, a terrible choice, and led to a really bad season, which is so sad because the previous season (season...
