What If...?
Details
Perhaps the fundamental question that has fueled the Marvel universe for decades has never been asked so clearly: What if everything were different? This is the simple yet infinitely profound question: What If?..? makes it much more than just an ordinary superhero animation. The series deals with the familiar breaking points of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and opens the door to completely different realities by changing a small detail in each of them. The characters you love take on forms here that you will recognize but also find difficult to recognize. The strange feeling created by this encounter is the series' greatest appeal. When you look at a scene, you get a nostalgic and deeply alien feeling; it's as if you are looking into the mirror of a memory that you are familiar with, but the mirror is slightly distorted. The Overseer character, brought to life by Jeffrey Wright's voice, serves as a philosophical bridge connecting all these stories. This ancient being, who has sworn to watch without interfering, is actually standing in the same position as the viewer; he witnesses everything, but resists so as not to be drawn into events. This fictional framework adds a surprisingly human depth to the series. The animation language also makes full use of this freedom. Free from the physical constraints of the live-action format, the production can make much bolder visual choices. While some sections have a dark and somber tone, others take on an almost fairy-tale-like lightness. Although this change in rhythm may seem difficult to get used to at first, it gradually becomes one of the series' strongest features. Thanks to the anthology format, each episode presents a complete story in itself, but as the seasons progress, you realize that these stories are not really independent of each other. The multiverse idea is not merely a tool of fiction; it functions as a genuine thematic framework that prompts reflection on identity, destiny, and the weight of choice. For Marvel fans, the reinterpretation of familiar moments is a great source of pleasure in itself. But even for the viewer who has not yet met the universe, What If...?, stands out as an original work that demonstrates how powerful a storytelling tool the question "what if it hadn't happened" can be.

The premise of taking heroes and changing completely their settings or the route of their lives is something amazing as an ideas, although not so original my the concept of Multiverse present not only on Marvel but DC too to be able to justify and manipulate their own order of comics (and later movies as a separate universe) that had too many events not in synchronic order or not in order with the rest of the comics at all. How he series manages this is by a mixture of CG animations that ble...
