House of the Dragon
Details
Stepping into a world where dragons cover the sky, the throne is written in blood, and every alliance contains a seed of betrayal leaves one with a feeling that is both magical and deeply disturbing. House of the Dragon, George R.R. A work that delves into the roots of Martin's legendary universe, not focusing on the dynamics that created Westeros, but on those that destroyed it. This is a period when the Targaryen dynasty was still at the height of its power. Dragons are not just legends, they are real weapons; the throne is not just a piece of furniture, but a curse that both glorifies and gradually consumes the one who sits on it. The most obvious feature that distinguishes the series from other fantasy productions is that in this gray moral world, where good and evil are not separated by sharp lines, each character makes decisions that are both insightful and unforgivable within himself. The viewer sometimes finds themselves on the exact opposite side of the character they support; This transforms the story into an experience not just watched but felt within. The entire cast, especially Matt Smith, Emma D'Arcy, and Olivia Cooke, brings unexpected depth and nuance to the characters. In particular, the position of the two female characters in the story points to something beyond the mere battle for power: what can be done when trying to exist in a system means reproducing that system with one's own hand? The series never directly answers this question; instead, it leaves the viewer to grapple with that weighty question. In terms of visual design, the production establishes a new aesthetic language by embracing the legacy that came before it, rather than being overshadowed by it. From the dim light of the castle corridors to the almost creepy beauty of the dragon flights, each frame builds a gloomy but enchanting atmosphere. Spanning twenty-six episodes over three seasons, this production is not impatient; it progresses cautiously. Because what it wants to tell is not the story of a war, but of a collapse. And collapses do not always begin with a collision; sometimes they start with a single silent decision.

Far cry from original series. Studios are squeezing money as much as they can I guess. Worse script, worse acting... It's just OK to watch and in my opinion it has far better rating than it deserves.

I do think it's a good show, but I didn't find myself drawn to it, even as a big Game of Thrones fan back in the day. Maybe I'm just over fantasy right now.
