INVINCIBLE
Details
Most superhero narratives draw the line between good and evil without ever questioning it. Costumed figures save the world, the people applaud, the story ends. Invincible, on the other hand, completely turns its back on this mold and draws the viewer into a completely different, much darker place. This adult animation, adapted from Robert Kirkman's comic book of the same name, begins with what appears to be an ordinary coming-of-age story. A seventeen-year-old young man is struggling with the chaos of life: school, friends, first love. However, this young man's father is perhaps the most powerful being on earth, and this situation changes everything. Inheriting power also means questioning one's heritage, because The series brings to the surface existential questions hidden behind superhero mythology. What is power? What is responsibility? How does growing up under the same roof as a legend shape one's character? These questions cannot be left unanswered; on the contrary, each section progresses by making the weight of these questions felt a little more. The main character, voiced by Steven Yeun, becomes both the audience's guide and their most vulnerable point. Sandra Oh and J.K. Simmons, on the other hand, never leaves the stage with her performances that carry the emotional backbone of the series. From its very first episode, Invincible makes it clear: This is not an animation for children. Behind the colorful and energetic appearance of the comic style lies an extremely intense, sometimes shocking narrative. Violence is not aestheticized here, it is shown with realistic consequences. This choice is one of the bravest aspects of the series; it does not make you forget that every action has a price. But it would be unfair to describe Invincible only by its hardness. The main strength of the series comes from the respect it has for the inner world of the characters. No one is completely good or completely bad. Each figure exists on the stage with its own logic, its own fractures and contradictions. This human confusion connects the viewer to the characters, and what eventually emerges is not just a superhero story, but a deep drama about identity, loyalty and morality. This series, which pushes the interspecies boundaries, makes you think after watching and makes you wonder about the next one at the end of each episode, stands out as one of the most ambitious examples of modern animation.

Invincible is so freaking good that it’s going to be difficult anticipating new episodes on a week-to-week basis. Its brutal action is mesmerizing, but Invincible has so much heart and meaning behind those punches that the show leaves an impact even when it isn’t throwing blood and severed limbs in your face. The voice acting is top notch and the story leaves you on the edge of your seat. Invincible has the potential to be one of the greatest animated superhero TV series of all time; adult or ot...

What can be said about _Invincible_? I know! "_the Boys_, it ain't." What does that mean? It means for this series, unlike like the comic book it's patterned after, is lacking in...backbone. I find this series detestable in its lameness. It's lopsided high swearing ratio to a negative degree of gratuity is the essence of overstepping resulting in underachieving. It's just like that other Netflix series _Vox Machina_. The animation series seems like it excessively swears in order to t...
