Mark Ruffalo

Ayant grandi dans les rues de Kenosha, dans le Wisconsin, Mark Ruffalo a connu un parcours long et difficile avant de devenir l'une des stars les plus brillantes d'Hollywood. Born in 1967, the actor tried to make a place for himself in the industry by taking on small roles in productions such as The Dentist and Safe Men in the early years of his career. The real breaking point was his working relationship with author Kenneth Lonergan. Ruffalo, who performed in Lonergan's theater plays, got the opportunity to star alongside Laura Linney in the movie You Can Count on Me. In this 2000 film, he played Linney's troubled brother Terry so convincingly that critics did not hesitate to compare him to a young Marlon Brando. The film was nominated for an Oscar in the categories of screenplay and actress, while Ruffalo was awarded at the Los Angeles Film Critics Association and the Montreal World Film Festival. After this success, Ruffalo continued to leave his mark in different productions. He took part in Michel Gondry's poetic film Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, which went down in cinema history, and proved his competence in different genres in productions such as We Don't Live Here Anymore and 13 Going on 30. In 2004, he also demonstrated his strength in thriller cinema by appearing opposite Tom Cruise in Collateral, directed by Michael Mann. In 2007, he played a real cop, detective Dave Toschi, in Zodiac, directed by David Fincher, and received great praise from critics. During the same period, he continued his commitment to theater and starred in Clifford Odets' Awake and Sing! He performed on Broadway with his play in a production that was nominated for a Tony Award. The film that changed the course of Ruffalo's career once again was The Avengers, released in 2012. It was not an easy task to be able to carry Bruce Banner and the angry giant Hulk inside him at the same time; Cependant, Ruffalo a donné vie à ce rôle à double niveau avec à la fois humour et profondeur émotionnelle, faisant de lui l'un des personnages les plus appréciés de l'univers Marvel. He continued this role in multiple Avengers films in the following years, further maturing the character's story. It is known that he will return to the role of Bruce Banner/Hulk once again in 2026's Spider-Man: A Brand New Day. Ruffalo, who has successfully carried both the introverted silence of independent cinema and the noise of major productions in his career spanning decades, has always remained a reliable name for moviegoers.
